A little note about myself...

I have lived in Cumbria and worked in Education for 26 years. I am now an Artist, also teaching Art and Crafts, and Workshops. I am also a children's book illustrator.

My parents farmed in Ambleside, and I feel so lucky to be able to call this beautiful place 'Home'. On the hill farm there were mainly Fell Sheep: Herdwicks, Swaledales and Galloway Cattle. The hens ran around free, giving a plentiful supply of bright orange yoked eggs, and the black and white Collie Sheep Dogs ran up the Fell to work, and bring in their flock. Our son grew up here, and has a strong love for this breathtaking country. The sights and sounds always prompted me to sit on a rock, or in a glade by the ghyll and my husband John would often find me sketching the wildlife, or the busy goings on, on the farm. 

My Art is an extension of those days, painting the animals and children etc. It now flourishes with new ideas and sights. I have a Cumbrian Fell Pony called Roc (Fell Pony Society name: Wansfell Star). We ride all over Cumbria and The Lakes. I get to meet the most wonderful people, and see places that are hardly trodden by human feet. It really is an amazing way to find inspiration around every corner. Cumbria is a place where you really can find peace, tranquillity and exhilarating beauty.
